The Brief
The client’s priority was to create a garden room that fully utilised the width of the garden while maintaining a clean and balanced appearance. Rather than opting for a standard size, the room was designed at 7.5 x 3.5 metres to suit the space precisely.
Flexibility was key. The room needed to function as a multi-purpose space that could adapt over time, whether used as a home office, additional living area, or a quiet retreat away from the main house.
As with all projects, the aim was to deliver a high-quality, permanent-feeling structure that would blend naturally into the garden.
Design & Build Details
This garden room was designed as a fully bespoke build, tailored to both the dimensions of the garden and the client’s requirements. The extended width allows for a more generous internal layout, making the space feel significantly larger than typical garden rooms.
The exterior features a modern black cladding finish, providing a clean and contemporary look that contrasts well with the surrounding garden. The symmetrical front elevation, with central double doors and vertical windows, enhances natural light while maintaining privacy.
Internally, the space is finished with durable timber flooring, clean white walls, and recessed ceiling lighting, creating a bright and neutral environment that can be easily adapted to different uses.
Constructed using high-performance SIP panels, the structure delivers excellent insulation and airtightness. This ensures consistent internal temperatures throughout the year and contributes to the building’s BER A rating, offering strong energy efficiency and long-term performance.
