Insulated for Year-Round Comfort
Like all our garden rooms in Dublin, this office is fully insulated in the floor, walls and roof, so it stays warm in winter and cool in summer. Double-glazed windows and doors bring in natural light while keeping heating costs low, and the build is finished to a standard you’d expect from an extension, at a fraction of the cost.
Electrics are fitted as standard, with sockets, lighting and network points positioned around how the client planned to use the room. All that was left to do on handover was move the desk in.
Do You Need Planning Permission for a Garden Office in Dublin?
In most cases, no. Garden rooms under 25 square metres are generally exempt from planning permission in Ireland, provided you retain at least 25 square metres of open garden space and the structure stays under the height limits. This 4m x 3m project fell comfortably within the exemption, so the client could go from first phone call to finished office in a matter of weeks. We advise on this at the survey stage, so you’ll know exactly where you stand before any work begins.
How Long Does a Build Like This Take?
