Naas Garden Room – 7.2 x 4 Metres

(Twin Office with Reception & Toilet)

This bespoke 7.2 x 4 metre garden room in Naas was designed as a fully functional workspace, combining two private offices, a reception area, and a dedicated toilet facility within a single, self-contained building.

The aim was to create a professional, comfortable environment that could operate independently from the main house, while maintaining a clean, modern appearance within the garden setting. The result is a high-performance garden office that delivers both practicality and long-term flexibility.

The Brief

The client required a garden room that would function as a professional workspace, rather than a simple home office. The design needed to accommodate:

  • Two separate office spaces
  • A central reception area
  • A fully integrated toilet

It was important that the layout felt organised and efficient, allowing for privacy between work areas while still maintaining a natural flow throughout the space. The building also needed to be suitable for daily use, with strong insulation, lighting, and comfort levels equivalent to a permanent structure.

Design & Build Details

This garden room was built at 7.2 x 4 metres, providing sufficient space to comfortably house multiple rooms without feeling restricted. The layout was carefully planned to maximise usability, with clearly defined zones for work, reception, and facilities.

Externally, the building is finished in high-quality timber cladding, giving it a warm, contemporary appearance that sits naturally within the garden. Integrated exterior lighting enhances the structure in the evenings, highlighting the clean architectural lines and improving usability after dark.

Large sliding doors and strategically placed windows allow natural light to enter each area, while maintaining privacy where needed.

Internally, the space is fully finished with durable flooring, clean wall finishes, recessed lighting, and efficient heating. The inclusion of a toilet adds a significant level of convenience, making the building suitable for long working days or client-facing use.

Constructed using SIP panels, the structure achieves a BER A rating, ensuring excellent insulation, airtightness, and energy efficiency throughout the year.

Year-Round Performance

Designed as a full-time working environment, this Naas garden room performs to the same standard as a traditional office space. The SIP panel construction, combined with high-performance glazing and insulation, ensures a stable internal temperature in all seasons.

This allows the space to be used comfortably throughout the year, without the limitations often associated with older garden buildings or sheds.

How the Space Is Used

This garden room is used as a dedicated business workspace, with each office providing a private and focused environment. The reception area creates a clear entry point, making the space suitable for meeting clients or managing day-to-day operations.

The addition of a toilet allows the building to function independently, reducing the need to return to the main house and improving overall convenience.

The flexible layout also means the space could be adapted in the future, whether for additional workstations, consultation rooms, or other professional uses.
